This is the killer workout that keeps Sylvia Jeffreys TV ready

The Today Show’s newsreader Sylvia Jeffreys has revealed the intense, results-orientated workout she swears by.

The 31-year-old says she’s been doing high intensity interval training (HIIT) at the Lean Bean pilates studio in Sydney’s Bondi for a year.

Her trainer, Lizzie Bland, takes Jeffreys through a workout that “combines pilates with high-intensity body weight circuits, boxing and dynamic stretching”, the journalist wrote on

Victoria’s Secret angel Victoria Lee, who recently signed on as the face of department store David Jones, is also a fan of the workouts.

“The Lean Bean classes move quickly through each movement with very little rest in between, which means there’s very little time to consider just how buggered you might actually be,” Jeffreys said.

“Before you can say ‘no more jump squats’, you’ve smashed out a full-body session and worked up more than a small sweat.

“The classes are fast, furious and, most importantly, fun. I genuinely look forward to every session and feel mentally and physically strong by the end.”

30 seconds of each (3 minutes) x 3

straights > star jumps

uppers > frog jumps

high punch > burpee


3 sets — 60 seconds each combo

1. 2 crawl outs, 4 touch and reach jumps

2. 4 squat to side kick, 2 squat jumps (2 kick each side)

3. 2 press-up, 4 plank straddle

4. 2 full sit-ups, 4 ab curl
