HRH Prince William records exclusive audio walking track for Apple’s Fitness+ subscribers, sharing never-heard-before personal stories and photos when the episode drops on December 6th.
As of Monday 6th of December, you can take a stroll with His Royal Highness the Duke of Cambridge. The heir to the British throne has recorded an audio episode of Time to Walk to see out the second series of Apple’s ‘audio experience’, which is available via Apple Watch for Fitness+ subscribers.
The audio series has featured a number of inspiring people over the past two series, including Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Aussie Paralympian Kurt Fearnley and Naomi Campbell – and the experience is indeed ‘intimate’; with the guest talking listeners through memorable or meaningful life moments whilst walking, and their stories are interjected with songs and photos (pinged to your watch face) that hold special meaning to them. It really feels like you’re going for a walk with a friend.
Prince William’s season finale episode is set to be just as revealing, with HRH speaking about the value of keeping not only physically but mentally fit, the importance of family during the holiday season and sharing a very personal account of the mental health challenges he has faced in the past – and how he overcame them.
It’s a vulnerable side we don’t often see of the royals, and the intimate way that Time to Walk is structured means we’ll not only hear heartfelt stories from the man himself, but also see the photos and hear the music that mean the most to him, too.
He said in an Instagram post about his partnership with Apple “Walking has been a feature of my life during the good times and the bad, come rain or shine. For me, it provides an opportunity to clear my mind and gain some perspective. It’s a key part of how I manage my mental health.
“It can be a very sociable exercise or a moment of complete calm and isolation. In the hope of inspiring a few other people to get active and take some extra time for their own mental health – I wanted to share a few of my stories and favourite songs with you in an episode of Time to Walk.”
If you’re a Fitness+ subscriber, you’ll be able to listen to Prince William’s 38-minute episode in Australia any time from midnight on Monday December 6th, AEDT.
However if you’re not a Fitness+ subscriber, Apple is releasing the special finale episode via Apple Music Radio, and streaming it for free in 165 countries on the Apple Music 1 channel. You can tune in from Australia on Monday 6th at 7pm AEDT, Tuesday 7th at 3am AEDT and again on Tuesday 7th at 8am AEDT.

Crisis Text Line and Shout provide free, 24/7 confidential support for people in crisis via text, and Lifeline provides free, 24-hour confidential crisis support and suicide prevention services.
